Along its history, in this area it took place many events which concerned to the actual cultural and historical configuration. Each place hide a little history and all of them defines the past and present of the area.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The name <em>Lord<\/em> is known since the epoch of Guifr\u00e9 el Pel\u00f3s king, specifically when he ordered one of his most important events that took place in the region: the repopulation and reorganisation of the Central Catalonia area.<\/p>\n<p>In the past, <em>La Vall de Lord<\/em> was divided in two areas: <em>Vall de Lord sobirana <\/em>(the upper area) which included the towns of <em>Sant Lloren\u00e7 de Morunys<\/em>, <em>La Coma i La Pedra<\/em> and <em>Guixers<\/em> and <em>Vall de Lord Jussana <\/em>(low area), which comprised the town of <em>Nav\u00e8s<\/em> (<em>Busa<\/em> mountain range, <em>la Llosa del Cavall<\/em> reservoir and the area of Aiguadora).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In addition, in this century it existed three castles located in different points along the valley: <em>La Pedra<\/em>\u2019s castle, <em>Castelltort<\/em>\u2019s castle and <em>Sisquer<\/em>\u2019s castle; they were used to be as a vigilance buildings of the area.<\/p>\n<p>Between the 11th and 12th centuries, they were built most of the forty Romanesque hermitages located along the valley, especially in <em>La Coma i La Pedra<\/em> and <em>Guixers<\/em> towns.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/lavalldelord.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_20160713_201159-600x338.jpg\" width=\"238\" height=\"134\" \/>Since 13th to 19th centuries, in the village of <em>Sant Lloren\u00e7 de Morunys<\/em> it was waved and commercialized the well-known \u201c<em>Drap Piteu<\/em>\u201d (= Piteu cloth), a wool weave which became the main economic activity of the town.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In 19th century, it took place several historical events:<\/p>\n<p><em>Busa<\/em> mountain range it used to be as a military field during the Peninsular War (1808-14). Nowadays we still found the natural prison known as <em>El Capolatell <\/em>or <em>Pres\u00f3 de Busa (<\/em>= <em>Busa<\/em> prison)<em>.<\/em> In this point, the Spanish soldiers left the French prisoners isolated without food and drink. Additionally, <em>Busa<\/em> was the second place (after Cadis city) in proclaim the Spanish constitution in 1812.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, few kilometres further, the town of <em>Sant Lloren\u00e7 de Morunys<\/em> didn\u2019t swear this constitution and consequently, it was almost burned in its totality as a reprisal on 23th January 1823.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/lavalldelord.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/fotografia_historia-600x308.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Few years later, in 1836, during the First Carlist War (1833-1840), the <em>Lord<\/em> Sanctuary became the epicentre of an armed conflict between liberal and carlist soldiers. The carlist soldiers who were established in the Sanctuary were attacked by many liberal troops. The conflict ends with the total destruction of the Sanctuary and the death of carlist soldiers.<\/p>\n<p>During 20th century, equally of the rest of the country, the valley was affected by the Spanish civil war (1936-39) with the burn of different artwork and the destruction of several bridges.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vall de Lord, land of history.
