Cloister of Sant Llorenç de Morunys

The cloister of Sant Llorenç de Morunys is placed at the south-eastern part of the church. It’s dated from the first half of the 16th century and probably was built over an old cloister or, at least, over an old porch or gallery which was connected to the monastic rooms. During the 17th and 18th centuries, the cloistral enclosure had the function of cemetery and at the same time was a social place.

The current cloister is fruit of the last remodelling in 1993, resting only 10 original columns. Nowadays, we can found the Museum – Vall de Lord’s Interpretation Centre, located in the monastery’s area.
