Lord sanctuary
The Lord sanctuary, belonging to the municipality of Sant Llorenç de Morunys, is places at the top of La Mola de Lord (1.150 m). Although the current sanctuary is dated from the 19th century, it is known since the 10th century.
Its structure is made up by one nave covered with barrel vault, tranverse arches and side chapels.
Due to the relief of La Mola de Lord, being an unassailable point in the past, this sanctuary used to be useful for the Carlist trops as a hospital and barracks. In consequence, this point became the epicenter of a battle between liberal and Carlist troops. As a result, the sanctuary was totally destroyed by liberals.
To commemorate this armed conflict, a Carlist cannon is shown in the summit of Mola de Lord.
The sanctuary is opened to the public in certain houres.
