What are the Centres BTT (MTB Centres)?
In 1997, Turisme de Catalunya started working in the project of creating a network of MTB Centres in Catalunya, a ground-breaking initiative in Spain. The MTB Centre Pla de l’Estany – Banyoles was the first to be inaugurated in 1999, and this makes the Centres BTT Catalunya network have a long experience, with 18 MTB centres in operation. Nowadays, the MTB amateurs can enjoy in Catalunya the network of 18 MTB centres, with 311 routes and more than 6.000 km signposted. The Agència Catalana de Turisme manages the programme Centres BTT Catalunya together with Consell Català de l’Esport (the Sports Catalan Council) and Federació Catalana de Ciclisme (the Catalan Cycling Federation), and have signed the specific signposting of the MTB centres in Spain.
