Llosa del Cavall reservoir

The project of the Llosa del Cavall reservoir was approved in 1989 with the need to increase the water resources according to the (Pla Hidrològic) hydrologic plan for Catalonia’s internal water basins.

The supplying basin to the reservoir includes the whole top part of the Cardener river, has an area of 200 km² and an average altitude of 1,400 metres with an average annual contribution of 76 hm³.

This resulted in the building of the present road which connects Solsona and Sant Llorenç de Morunys passing the reservoir. It is an interesting place to practice adventure sports, especially kayaking.

Codó’s viewpoint

Codó’s viewpoint is an ideal place to admire the scenery and the varied environment provided by the singular mountains that surround us. Located at 1.529 meters, it gives us a great view of Sant Llorenç de Morunys town, the mountain ranges of Busa and Bastets and the Llosa del Cavall reservoir. On clear days it’s possible to see Montserrat and Montseny mountains.

Near to the viewpoint we found the picnic area of El Codó, placed in the middle of the forest and equipped with barbecues, tables, wooden benches and bathrooms. There are also some parking places for motorhomes.

The main places in Busa mountain range:

El Capolatell: also known as a Busa’s prison, because, during the Peninsular War, this point was used as a natural prison.
